Exceed Hairdressing Apprenticeships provide several different training courses at our training facility in Bradford. We’re sure we will have a course that will suit your apprentice and provide you with the best training to progress their career.
Here’s an introduction to the Exceed team – the people who will train and support your trainees and apprentices. They all have the necessary professional qualifications but our experience of working in real salons helps to provide the skills that today’s employers are looking for.
Helen has been a lecturer in Hairdressing for many years and has owned and run her own salon for many years. She has Levels 2 and 3 in Hairdressing; a BTEC National in Beauty; a Higher National Diploma in Beauty Therapy; and a Certificate in Education.
Helen launched Exceed Training Academy in September 2006 and it has gone from strength to strength ever since.
Director of Operations and Assessor / IQA - Claire Close.
Claire joined exceed training after a decade of delivering Hairdressing at a local WBL provider. She has trained and delivered all levels of ladies and men's Hairdressing/Barbering.
School Provision Make-Up Trainer/Assessor - Sharon Derrick.
Sharon has 28 years industry experience in Hairdressing / Beauty therapy / Holistic therapy and make up.
Sharon has trained with Clarins and Estee Lauder for makeup skills.
She is currently work as a resident hairdresser / makeup artist at Holdsworth house hotel in Halifax alongside with my teaching.
Administrator/Admissions Manager- Chelsey Reed.
As an apprentice Business Administrator it is Chelseys job to keep the office running smoothly. She is the first point of contact when getting in-touch with Exceed.
Chelsey answers the phone to new students and employers, sends out application forms and answers your queries.
Chelseys role involves a lot of paperwork and planning to ensure training records are properly maintained and that the lectures and assessors have all the information, forms and relevant schedules they need for their students.
Chelsey enjoys her role at Exceed Training Academy and hopes the knowledge and experience she has gained will lead her into a fulfilling role as office manager within Exceed Training.
Lead Trainer/Assessor Level 3 Hairdressing- Rachel Kay.
Rachel has worked as a lecturer for 8 years and in that time she worked for a major training provider delivering on all levels of courses.
Her qualifications include NVQ level 2& 3, Balmain hair extensions, Assessors award and Certificate in education.
She has 25 years extensive experience of the Hairdressing industry having both managed salons and providing the in house training for the apprentice's, she now also runs her own business which keeps her up to date on current trends .
Functional Skills Tutor - Amanda Ball.
Amanda Ball is an experienced Level 5 Maths and English Functional Skills practitioner, having built up a wealth of knowledge over the past 16 years lecturing in colleges around Bradford and Calderdale.
She has been involved in curriculum development and quality assurance helping to support teachers and build expertise to deliver positive outcomes for young people. Amanda has worked alongside businesses supporting them to develop and improve their workforce delivering apprenticeship training.
Amanda says "I feel really strongly about helping young people realise their potential through quality training. It is important to me that training is tailored to suit individual needs and delivered by qualified, committed and dedicated staff in a supportive environment. This allows them to grow and develop the skills required by today's employers".
Hairdressing Trainer/Assessor- Sami Rogers
Sami is a stylist at Exceed Salon so is able to remain aware of the latest style and colour trends.
A fully qualified assessor, Sami has Levels 2 and 3 in Hairdressing and a Certificate in Education. She is another valuable member of the training team in her role supporting the lecturers and helping students.
As well as training for two days at the academy and working four days in the salon. She has now started to be an educator for a company where she works internationally at hair shows, demonstrating and promoting their products.
Assessor Vicki Taylor
Vicki works full time in a salon so is able to keep fully up to date with the business side of Hairdressing. She is also a valuable member of the training team in support of the lecturers. Vicki has Levels 2 and 3 in Hairdressing, a Certificate in Education and is a fully qualified assessor.
After running her own Beauty salon for 11 years, Rebecca has moved into teaching. She has a BTEC National and a HNC in Beauty Therapy and also a Certificate in Education. Having had her own business, Rebecca understands the needs of a salon owner and incorporates that into her training methodology
